Facebook has recently begun asking users to “tell us what you like” after they hide an ad. The module then links to the page discovery browser, which presents a number of pages that users can Like and add to their interests.

When users see a Facebook ad they don’t care for, they can click the X that appears in the top right corner. The ad will be hidden and users can indicate why they didn’t like the ad. This week we noticed that after this step, Facebook now prompts users to visit the pages browser. The site, which Facebook introduced in 2010, shows icons of pages that are popular in a user’s country, but also factors in pages which are popular among their friends.

Average Facebook ad clickthrough rates are highest on weekends and lowest on Monday, according to new research by TBG Digital.

Specifically, Saturday’s average CTR is 12 percent higher than average CTR on Monday. Advertisers can use this information to understand their own campaign performance and perhaps adjust their Facebook ad strategies.

Facebook ad clickthrough rate is closely tied to cost per click and cost per impression. Ads with higher CTR are generally served more frequently. When ads have lower CTR, advertisers typically have to increase their bid price to get the same number of impressions. Facebook advertisers who want to maximize the CTR of their ads might decide to shift campaigns to the weekend when the averages seem to be in their favor.

Facebook posts made by retail brands during the overnight hours of 8 PM to 7 AM drive 20% more user engagement, in terms of like and comment rates, than posts made between 8 AM and 7 PM, according to a new report from Buddy Media. It is the latest of a series – a large, ever-expanding series – of data points offered up to the marketing industry about the best time to send a campaign.
